Problems overriding my.cnf

I am trying to create a custom my.cnf (can I ask for this to have a similar setup to the php overrides?)

I've opened the stack contents so I can copy in the custom file but I can't copy it in because finder isn't allowing me to copy/move anything in there.

It just shows the stop cursor.

looking at get info, its not locked in any way. but it just isn't allowing me to copy it in

What can I do to get my cnf changes into mysql?

Hi, overall I definitely agree the override mechanism could be more convenient than it is right now. PHP is not bad, good enough for my own use, but could also be better, I think.

The situation you've described is really strange. Just to confirm, you've done something like this:

in Indigo, you've right-clicked the stack in the left-hand column and chosen "Show in Finder..."
in the Finder you've right-clicked your mystack.indigostack file and are looking at the contents inside it ("Show package contents")
you'll see the config.json file in there, plus any previous overrides you may have made

If that's the case for you, the situation is more of a macOS issue and less of an Indigo one. Indigo doesn't add or require any particular permissions on any of those files, they should all simply be owned by your macOS user account. Checking "Get Info" was absolutely the right thing to check first 🙂 My thoughts are definitely along the same lines.

A few ideas to try:

create a dummy stack in Indigo and try adding a file inside the new one's .indigostack file

in the Terminal, try ls -lahd <your-indigostack-file-path> to view permission on the stack bundle file itself. For reference, one of mine is:

drwxr-xr-x@ 10 jeffh  staff   320B 17 May 10:45 mysite.indigostack

also try ls -lah <your-indigostack-file-path> (losing the d from above) to view permissions of everything inside the stack bundle file. Mine has a bunch similar to:

-rwxr-xr-x@  1 jeffh  staff   6.0K 17 May 10:45 config.json
drwxr-xr-x   4 jeffh  staff   128B  3 Apr 21:45 php_9472

All said, this one's pretty weird! Let me know how you get on and hopefully we can get to the bottom of it!

creating a new one and opening the package does the same thing, its the same on all stacks.

I have no doubt it's a MacOS thing, Im running MacOS 14.5 on a M2 chip if that helps at all.

I know I have managed to make an update like this before without this problem, its like the show contents now opens in read only mode regardless of what the settings are.

I think I worked it out.

My stack files live in docs, docs is synced with iCloud.

While the stack file is in there, it's not writable via show contents. (it works fine writing a php ini via the overrides in Indigo), moving it to my user root and making changes works, I can copy files into it and move it back to its place in Docs.

Im not sure what iCloud is doing that requires it not been allowed, but it seems related.
